Free Fire Proxy Server Setup for Free Fire and Free Fire MAX on Android and iPhone

Free Fire works on

  • Android
  • iOS
  • iPadOS

Key facts

  • How to use a proxy

Free Fire has no proxy field. Add a SOCKS5 proxy with UDP relay to v2rayNG (Android) or Shadowrocket (iPhone) and route the game through it.

  • Account region

An existing account stays on the server region it was created on, and a proxy does not move it. Only Garena support can move an account, and it rarely does.

  • Two apps, one account

Free Fire and Free Fire MAX are separate apps with a shared account and shared servers. Set the proxy for the one you actually open.

  • India

India blocked the original Free Fire app in February 2022 under Section 69A of the IT Act. Free Fire MAX is still on Google Play in India, and Indian players don't need a proxy to install or play it.

Which connection method carries Free Fire traffic

Login goes over TCP and matches go over UDP. Whatever method you use has to relay both.

Which proxy type to use with Free Fire

Pick a proxy country inside your account's server region or next to it. Every millisecond between you and a distant exit gets added to your ping.

Best for Free Fire

Residential proxies

from $0.27/GB

It is the only Geonode type that relays UDP over SOCKS5. Geonode sticky sessions keep one IP for up to 24 hours.

Lobby only

ISP proxies

from $1.25/IP

No UDP relay; matches won't load.

Setup test only

Free public proxies

Free

Public proxies are shared with strangers and often go offline within hours. Few of them relay UDP.

How to set up a proxy for Free Fire

The tunnel app sends only the game through the proxy, so the rest of the phone keeps its normal connection.

  1. Install v2rayNG from Google Play or from github.com/2dust/v2rayNG.

  2. Tap + on the main screen and choose Add [SOCKS].

  3. Enter a name in remarks, proxy.geonode.io in address and 12000 in port.

  4. In User (optional), type your Geonode username with -requireUdp-true at the end. Put your password in Password (optional).

  5. Tap the check icon to save the profile.

  6. Open the side menu and tap Per-app settings. Turn on Enable per-app, then tick Free Fire or Free Fire MAX.

  7. Back on the main screen, select the profile, tap the play button and accept the VPN request.

How to check that the proxy works

  1. In v2rayNG, tap the status line at the bottom of the main screen. If the proxy works, it shows Connection succeeded and a time in milliseconds.

  2. Android: if you ticked only Free Fire in Per-app settings, the browser won't use the proxy. Tick Chrome there as well, open Geonode's What is my IP page to see the proxy's IP and country, then untick Chrome.

  3. iPhone and iPad: with Global Routing set to Proxy, all traffic goes through the tunnel. Open Geonode's What is my IP page in Safari and you should see the proxy's IP and country.

  4. Start a Clash Squad match. If it loads with the tunnel off and hangs with it on, UDP isn't getting through.

How to turn the proxy off

  1. v2rayNG: tap the stop button on the main screen.

  2. Shadowrocket: turn off the connection switch on the Home screen.

Common Free Fire proxy problems and fixes

  • Login and lobby work, but a match never starts

    Cause
The proxy relays TCP but not UDP
    Fix
Switch to the residential SOCKS5 gateway on port 12000 and add -requireUdp-true to the username.
  • The game shows a network error before login

    Cause
The tunnel is on but the proxy is unreachable or the login is wrong
    Fix
Turn the tunnel off and check that Free Fire connects without it. Then re-enter the host, port, username and password, and test them in the Geonode proxy checker.
  • Ping jumps to several hundred milliseconds

    Cause
The proxy exit sits far from your account's server region
    Fix
Use the country targeting username format to pick a proxy country near that region. If ping stays high, play without the proxy.
  • You get kicked out in the middle of a match

    Cause
A rotating session changed the IP, or the phone switched between Wi-Fi and mobile data
    Fix
Use a sticky session that lasts longer than you plan to play, and don't switch networks mid-game.

Free Fire proxy FAQ

It is a server that relays your Free Fire traffic, so Garena sees the proxy's IP instead of yours. The game has no proxy field. You enter the proxy in a tunnel app such as v2rayNG or Shadowrocket, and it has to relay UDP or matches won't load.

Garena doesn't run a VIP proxy server. Apps and APK files sold under that name come from third parties. Garena's anti-hack rules count unauthorized third-party programs and modified clients as cheating, and accounts get banned for it. The only official pre-release server is Garena's Advance Server, which needs an activation code.

No. Paid items, diamonds and locked events are stored on Garena's servers and tied to your account, so a proxy can't get you them for free. Offers of unlimited access are scams or hacks.

Not for an existing account. It stays on the server region it was created on, whatever IP you connect from. A new account created through a proxy may end up in the proxy's region.

Garena's Terms of Service don't mention proxies or VPNs. They do let Garena suspend accounts for suspected fraud, account sharing or account trading, and terminate accounts at its discretion. The ToS also forbids using multiple accounts in one game (clause 4.2). Logins from lots of different IPs can look like account sharing, so keep one sticky IP for your account.

Usually not. A proxy adds a hop between your phone and the game server. Ping only goes down if your own provider has a bad route to that server and the proxy's route is shorter.

The Geonode free proxy list has HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4 and SOCKS5 proxies you can use to test a setup. Few public proxies relay UDP, though, so a Free Fire match through one rarely loads.
