No proxy by default
A new profile starts on Without Proxy and uses your own IP. No Kameleo plan includes proxies, so you bring your own from any HTTP, SOCKS5 or SSH provider.
Location follows the proxy
Timezone, Geolocation and WebRTC in the Location section default to Automatic and take their values from the proxy IP. Set the profile language to match the proxy country yourself.
Stop before you switch
Change a profile's proxy only while the profile is stopped. Swapping it mid-session gives the open tabs a new IP halfway through.

Which proxy type to use with Kameleo
Kameleo changes the browser fingerprint, but the sites you log into still see the proxy IP. Social and ad platforms ban linked accounts under their terms, and a separate fingerprint per profile lowers that risk without removing it.

Many users share each free IP, and a lot of them are already flagged. Use one to check that a profile starts and passes Test Proxy. Keep logged-in accounts off it.
How to set up a proxy in Kameleo
You need the proxy host, port, protocol, and the username and password if your provider uses them.
Open Kameleo, go to Profiles and click New.
Choose the device (Desktop or Mobile), operating system and browser.
In the Proxy section, switch Without Proxy to With Proxy.
Select HTTP, SOCKS5 or SSH from the protocol dropdown.
Enter the Host and Port, then the Username and Password if the proxy needs them.
On Geonode, the host is proxy.geonode.io. Copy the port, username and password from the Proxies section of the dashboard, where the port you pick decides rotating or sticky. To pin a country, add -country-US (or another country code) to the end of the username.
Click Test Proxy and wait for the connection result and location.
Set the profile language to match the proxy country.
Click Save, then Start on the profile.

Click Test Proxy. Kameleo tries to reach Google, Archive.org and Wikipedia through the proxy and shows the result without starting the profile.
Start the profile and open the Geonode What is my IP page inside it. You should see the proxy's IP and country, not your home connection.
In the same profile, open browserleaks.com/webrtc and check that WebRTC reports the proxy IP and the timezone matches the IP's country.
How to remove a proxy from a profile
Open the stopped profile's edit page and switch the Proxy section back to Without Proxy.
Click Save. The profile now connects from your own IP, so do not start it with an account that was only ever used on the proxy.
Common Kameleo proxy problems and fixes
The profile won't start
- Kameleo tests the proxy on Start and doesn't open the browser if the test fails
- Click Test Proxy on the edit page and fix the part that fails. A partial result is usable; it often just means the proxy has no IPv6 route.

- Wrong protocol for the port, mistyped login, or the provider blocks the test sites
- Pick the protocol your provider lists for that port and paste the credentials again. Use the proxy credentials from the Geonode dashboard, not your account login. Still failing? Run the proxy through the Geonode proxy checker. If it passes there, start the profile and open a site you actually use.
CauseFixThe account asks for verification after every login
- The profile is on a rotating session and gets a new IP on each connection, or two profiles share one proxy
- Give each profile its own sticky session or ISP proxy so the account signs in from the same IP every time.
CauseFixA checker site shows your real IP through WebRTC
- WebRTC is set to Off in the Location section, or the site uses UDP, which Kameleo does not send through the proxy
- Set WebRTC back to Automatic so Kameleo reports the proxy IP. If Automatic still leaks through UDP, start the profile through the Local API with the preference webrtc.ip_handling_policy set to disable_non_proxied_udp on Chroma, or media.peerconnection.ice.proxy_only set to true on Junglefox. Block stops the leak too, though a browser with WebRTC blocked stands out to the sites you visit.

- Timezone or Geolocation was set to Manual, or the proxy country changed after the profile was created
- Switch Timezone and Geolocation to Automatic and pin the country in the proxy username.
