Residential proxies
from $0.27/GB
Country targeting sets the country Twitch reads from your IP, and a sticky session can keep that IP for up to 24 hours.
Twitch works on
Where the proxy goes
Twitch has no proxy setting on twitch.tv or in its apps. It reads your country from the IP each request comes from, so set the proxy in Windows or macOS for Chrome and Safari, or in a VPN-mode proxy app on a phone.
Logging in from a proxy IP
Twitch lists a VPN or proxy as a reason to ask for a login code, even on a known device. Without 2FA the six-character code comes by email, and the check can't be turned off.
Lower quality isn't always offered
Partner channels always offer lower qualities. Other channels may offer only the original stream, at whatever bitrate the streamer sends (Twitch's guideline for 1080p60 is 6000 kbps).
Pick the route by where you watch or stream from.
| Name | Works In | Auth | Blocking Resistance | Best For | Where To Get |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| System proxy (Windows, macOS) | twitch.tv in Chrome and Safari, which use the system setting, video and chat included | Windows has no login fields, so the browser asks. The Mac screen has a password switch. | Depends on the IP. | Watching on a computer | Geonode residential proxies |
| Proxy app in VPN mode (Android, iPhone, iPad) | The Twitch app, plus any other app the client tunnels | SOCKS5 or HTTP, with a username and password if the client takes them, or a whitelisted IP | Same IP rules apply; a rule-based client can limit the tunnel to Twitch. | The Twitch phone app | Geonode residential or ISP proxies |
| Proxifier (Windows, macOS) | Any desktop program, OBS Studio included | SOCKS5 or HTTPS with username and password | Same IP rules apply, and each broadcast frame takes an extra hop. | Streamers with no direct route to Twitch | Geonode residential or ISP proxies |
Twitch doesn't say how it spots a proxy or unblocker. These picks assume ordinary use, such as watching from a network that blocks twitch.tv or keeping one IP for a daily login.

from $1.25/IP
The assigned IP stays the same while it's in your plan, so Twitch sees the same IP at every login.

Enough for browsing the directory and chat, which use little data.
Free
Shared and often slow, so expect buffering. Use one to check the setup, not to watch.
Copy the host, port, username and password from your Geonode dashboard; on residential, add -country- and a country code to the username to set the country Twitch sees.
In Chrome, open Settings > System > Open your computer's proxy settings. In Safari, open Settings > Advanced > Change Settings next to Proxies.
On Windows, under Manual proxy setup, click Set up next to Use a proxy server. Turn it on, fill in Proxy IP address and Port, and click Save.
On a Mac, click your network service, then Details > Proxies. Turn on Secure web proxy (HTTPS), enter the server and port, switch on Proxy server requires password and fill in both fields.
Reload twitch.tv. If the browser asks, enter the proxy username and password, not your Twitch ones.
Log in to Twitch and enter the login code if Twitch emails one.
Check detailed instructions on our blog:
Read the blog postOpen What is my IP on geonode.com in the browser or phone you set up, before adding any Twitch-only rules. The country it shows is the one Twitch will read.
If you stream, open Twitch Inspector (inspector.twitch.tv) after a test broadcast: a Twitch Server near you means OBS went direct, as it should.
On a computer, turn off Use a proxy server (Windows) or Secure web proxy (HTTPS) under Details > Proxies (Mac), then reload twitch.tv.
On a phone, disconnect in Super Proxy or Shadowrocket and force-close Twitch.
